Founded in 1901 by George M. Hendee, Indian Motorcycle began as America’s first motorcycle company. Quickly solidifying itself as a premier racing bike, Indian Motorcycle became the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world during the 1910s.The Indian brand became immortalized over decades of motorsport achievement and engineering excellence. In 1967, New Zealand native Burt Munro made motorcycle history at the age of 68 by setting a new official land speed record of over 180 mph.
