Pioneers of protective gear since 1963, Alpinestars was founded in Italy by Sante Mazzarolo, a master leather craftsman. Based in the small Northern Italy town of Asolo, Mazzarolo began producing the first products bearing the Alpinestars label in honour of the town namesake: The Alpine Star flower. With the establishment and increasing popularity of motocross in Europe, Mazzarolo applied his talents and technical acumen to design new footwear to meet the protective demands of the sport. Subsequently, Alpinestars has become a world-leadsing manufacturer in professional racing gear and motocross themed apparel

Today Alpinestars creates products for a variety of mainstream motorsport and extreme sports. Sponsoring teams from Formula 1, NASCAR and MotoGP, Alpinestars is worn by sports champions from Dale Ernhardt Jr, Marc Márquez and Casey Stoner.
